Benefits of WCA:
- Prevents overgrowth of crops
- Helps to harden the fruit
- Increases storage life of vegetables
- Helps plants absorb phosphoric acid, and accumulate nutrients.
Making WCA with Coral Sand:
- Mix coral sand with vinegar in large mouth container at a ratio of 1:10 (1 part coral sand to 10 parts vinegar.
- Pour vinegar in slowly as doing it too fast or in a narrow mouth container can cause it to bubble over out of the container.
- Cover with paper towel and fasten around rim with rubberhand
- Store for approximately 5 days
- Strain into container
- Dilute it 1:1000 with water to create applicable fertilizer.
Making WCA with Egg Shells:
- Cook crushed egg shells in pan
- Shake pan to remove membrane from shells
- Mix cooked egg shells with vinegar in large mouth container at a ratio of 1:10 (1 part egg shell to 10 parts vinegar.
- It will cause a bubbling reaction. As it settles, cover with paper towel and fasten around rim with rubberband.
- Store for 5-10 days
- Strain into a container
- Dilute it 1:1000 with water to create applicable fertilizer.
